  • Co-Host of Disability Community Connection, a monthly video meeting for Disabled genetic counselors to bond, vent, and mentor.

  • Licensed in AL, CA, FL, GA, IL, MA, MT, NJ, OR, PA, and WA.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration - Alternate Consumer Representative

  • Represents the consumer perspective on issues and actions before the advisory committee; facilitates dialogue with the advisory committees on scientific issues that affect consumers.

  • Host of Wondering Wednesday, Ask a GC, a monthly webinar for individuals and families affected by mitochondrial disease to ask genetics questions.

  • Co-Host of a monthly Zoom meeting for healthcare providers who themselves have mitochondrial disease.

As a Disabled, LGBT, genetic counselor I am passionate about using my patient, family member, and healthcare provider hats to advocate for my communities. I do not believe in separating my various identities out - they all come together to make me who I am today.

Being believed by (most) doctors, having obviously abnormal blood work, access to top specialists, research genetic testing, and international treatment options - my path is NOT one that is accessible to most.
